Palm-fringed beachfront wellness enclave on the Riviera Maya at first light
Mexico · Playa del Carmen

Palmaïa The House of AïA

A wellness enclave where the jungle meets the Caribbean.

Overview

Palmaïa calls itself the House of AïA, and behaves less like a resort than a gathering place for the healing arts. On a stretch of Riviera Maya beach backed by jungle, it layers ceremony, movement and ritual over the architecture of an all-inclusive - and quietly subverts the genre from within.

The kitchen is plant-forward as a founding conviction, with vegan menus written first and everything else in support. Days are shaped by a changing rhythm of sound journeys, cacao ceremonies and forest rituals led by the house's own healers - taken as deeply, or as lightly, as each guest wishes.

Wellness Philosophy

Wellness as ceremony rather than schedule. Palmaïa's healers - its 'architects of life' - hold a daily rhythm of ritual and movement, on the belief that transformation begins with participation, not prescription.

The Setting

Where it stands

On the beach at the southern edge of Playa del Carmen, under an hour from Cancún International. The jungle presses close behind; the Caribbean opens ahead; Tulum's energy is nearby without its crowds.

Who It Is For

A guest in mind

For the spiritually curious who still want warm water and a good bed - guests drawn to ceremony and healing arts, plant-based eaters tired of being an afterthought, and travellers wanting a soft entry into ritual without a monastic setting.

What nourishes you

Several kitchens, one conviction: plant-forward first. Vegan tasting menus lead the offer, with seafood and other options alongside - an inversion of the usual resort hierarchy, executed with genuine craft.
