Bawah Reserve
Six islands, three lagoons, one seaplane.
Bawah is what remoteness looks like when it is done with care: six private islands and three lagoons in the Anambas archipelago, reached only by the reserve's own seaplane, built almost entirely by hand to spare the reef and forest. Anchors, jet skis and hurry are all absent by policy.
Wellbeing is woven into the rate rather than sold beside it - a daily spa treatment is included for every guest, as are meals, activities and the Aura wellness centre's classes. The reserve calls it 'elevated simplicity'; guests mostly call it the reset they didn't know how to ask for.

“Luxury as restraint. Bawah holds that an untouched reef, a hand-built villa and an unscheduled afternoon restore more than any machine - and prices the spa into daily life so care becomes habit, not treat.”
Where it stands
In the Anambas Islands between the Malay Peninsula and Borneo - a ferry from Singapore to Batam, then eighty minutes by private seaplane over open sea to the reserve's lagoon.
A guest in mind
